Biography:
Dr. Xu Ren-ai is a highly accomplished Chief Pharmacist, Deputy Director of the Medical Department, Master's Supervisor, and Research Officer at the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. He also leads the National Key Research and Development Program Project Center. Dr. Xu's research focuses on clinical pharmacy, clinical pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, and pharmacokinetics. He has published over 50 SCI papers as the first author and corresponding author, including over 10 papers in the first district of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Zone 1) and over 20 papers in Zone 2. He has served as the guest deputy editor-in-chief of Frontiers in Pharmacology magazine and as a reviewer for top-tier journals such as Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Chemico-Biological Interactions, and Talanta. Dr. Xu has hosted one National Natural Science Foundation project, one National Key Research and Development Program sub-center project (responsible for 1.11 million), one Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation project, four departmental and bureau-level projects, and three horizontal projects. He has received numerous awards, including the third prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award (2021), the second prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award (2021), the "Excellent Youth" award of Wenzhou Medical University (2021), the Youth Talent Plan of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University (2021), the Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Talent Award (2022), the "Thousand Red Cup" Excellent Hospital Pharmacist (2022), and the Wenzhou Medical Newcomer (2023).
Dr. Xu is actively involved in professional organizations and has been appointed as a young member of the Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Research Professional Committee of the Chinese Pharmacological Society, Secretary of the Pharmaceutical Testing and Quality Control Group of the Zhejiang Hospital Pharmacy Management Quality Control Center, young member of the Hospital Pharmacy Professional Committee of the Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Association, young member of the Clinical Pharmacy Branch of the Zhejiang Medical Association, member of the Evidence-Based Pharmacy Professional Committee of the Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Association, and young Vice Chairman of the Clinical Pharmacy Branch Committee of the Wenzhou Medical Association.

Major Contributions: Dr. Xu firstly established the CYP450 allele database of the Chinese population and built the largest CYP450 gene polymorphism database of the Chinese Han population in the world. He explored three eukaryotic CYP450 in vitro recombinant expression systems and constructed the most complete CYP450 in vitro enzymatic activity research system and microsomal library in China. Dr. Xu clarified the metabolic characteristics of the new variant for more than 40 clinical drugs, laying the foundation for the personalized use of clinical drugs.
