International Summer Program

1. University Introduction:

Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) was established in 1958 and has the total enrollment of 24,809 in 2023. As one of the leading independent medical universities in China, it boasts 5 directly-affiliated hospitals and 29 non-directly affiliated teaching hospitals. It ranks the 501-600 in the 2023 ARWU Academic Ranking of World Universities, 9th among Chinese medical universities.

WMU is located in Wenzhou, a coastal city in Zhejiang province. Wenzhou is a national historic and cultural city, with a history of more than 2,200 years. It boasts great natural diversity of landscapes and has been rated as one of China’s Top Ten Happiness Cities.

3. Length of the Program:

4. Eligibility:

Full-time undergraduate students currently registered at overseas universities, non-Chinese citizens, aged between 18 to 35, and with good academic standing are eligible.

Experiencing Wenzhou: visit Nanxi river resort or Yandang mountain

Day 7

Visit Shangen music art hamlet, green lantern stone carving art museum, and Ouge agriculture and forestry sightseeing garden (grass world)

Day 8

City tour: visit Wuma street business circle, Mochi cultural circle

Chinese food cooking class

Day 9

Seminars and closing ceremony

7. Cost:

The program fee is waived. Students are responsible for their international transportation and insurance.

8. Application Materials:

Transcript (in English), Scanned or electronic copy of the official transcript issued by your current university;

Recommendation letter from your current university for getting nominated to join this summer program.

Ordinary passport within the validity period (Scanned color copy);

Applicants whose native language is not English speaking should provide the scanned color copies of proof of English proficiency test;

Other supplementary documents required by WMU.

9. Application Procedures:

Step 1: Applicants should click to apply for “2024 summer program”, fill in the application form, and upload all the application materials in the online application system (https://wmu.at0086.cn/student);

Step 2: If the application materials are qualified, the invitation letter will be issued through the online application system. Please check the account of the online application system or application email frequently during the application period;

Step 3: Check your email frequently for the Visa Application Form for Study in China (DQ Form) (Note: The admission standard is receiving the DQ Form).

Step 4: Check your email frequently for the notices from WMU.
