Guo Yajun, MD, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Chief Physician, is the Chief Scientist of the National Key Laboratory of Macromolecular Drugs and Large-Scale Preparation, and the Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Antibody Drugs. He is also a professor at Wenzhou Medical University and Liaocheng University.

Professor Guo's research primarily focuses on the molecular mechanisms of immune evasion and metastasis in tumors, alongside the development of biotherapeutics targeting major diseases such as malignant tumors and autoimmune disorders. His work also involves pharmacoeconomic evaluations. Under his leadership, nearly 40 clinical trial approvals have been obtained for the macromolecular drugs he developed, with 8 macromolecular drugs brought to market, including China’s first antibody drug, the first humanized antibody drug, and the first HER2-targeted innovative drug.

Professor Guo has published more than 300 research papers in prestigious journals such as Science and Nature Medicine. He has also authored 3 books and holds over 100 invention patents. His numerous awards include the National Natural Science Award (Second Class), two National Science and Technology Progress Awards (Second Class), two National Technology Invention Awards (Second Class), the National Science and Technology Progress Innovation Team Award, three Military Science and Technology Progress Awards, the China Patent Gold Award, the China Young Scientist Award, the He Liang He Li Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award, the Qiushi Award, and several other national honors. He has also been recognized as an Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Expert and Model Teacher.

Professor Guo serves as the Chief Scientist for the National 973 Program Antibody Project and is an expert in the National 863 Program "Antibody and Vaccine Field." He has led more than 25 national projects, including the "973 Program," "863 Program," "Major New Drug Discovery Program," and the National "Outstanding Young Scientists Fund." He is a member of the editorial boards of academic journals such as MAbs, Cancer Gene Therapy, and Human Gene Therapy.

Research Area:

Professor Guo’s research primarily focuses on the molecular mechanisms of immune evasion and metastasis in tumors. His work is dedicated to the development of macromolecular drugs for the treatment of malignant tumors, autoimmune diseases, and other critical diseases. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to advancing the field of antibody drugs, particularly in cancer and autoimmune disease therapies. His research also includes the evaluation of drug economics and strategies for cost-effective healthcare solutions.
