Biography

Dr. Xin-Cheng Lu is a full professor at Wenzhou Medical University and serves as the director of the Institute of Molecular Oncology. He is an advisor for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and is also a Principal Investigator (PI). Dr. Lu received his PhD from Nanjing Agricultural University in 1998 and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Case Western Reserve University and Michigan Technological University in the USA.

Dr. Lu's research focuses on the functions and molecular mechanisms of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, particularly in the context of tumorigenesis, metastasis, and chemo-resistance in colon cancer progression. His research is supported by grants from the National Natural Science Foundation (NSF) and the NSF of Zhejiang, including 7 projects from NSF and 3 from NSF of Zhejiang. Dr. Lu has published nearly 30 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Immunity, Nature Communications, and Journal of Hepatology. He holds 1 national invention patent.

Dr. Lu has received numerous awards, including the first prize in the Natural Science Award of Zhejiang Province and recognition as a Middle-aged Academic Leader in Zhejiang Province. He has also received the Leadership Award from Zhejiang Provincial Higher Education Institutions. He was selected for the “OUYUE YINGCAI JIHUA” and “551 Talent Project” of Wenzhou City and the Leading Talents for Scientific and Technological Innovation in Wenzhou City's Special Support Plan for High-level Talents. Additionally, Dr. Lu serves as a review expert for NSF and several provincial foundations, and is a committee member of the Zhejiang Society for Immunology.
