Biography

Dr. Feng Tan is a full professor at Wenzhou Medical University and serves as the director of the Institute of Tropical Medicine. He is an advisor for PhD and postdoctoral training. His laboratory focuses on understanding the molecular function of protein degradation pathways in Toxoplasma, including protein transport, ubiquitin-proteasome system function, and lysosome biogenesis. Dr. Tan's research also aims to develop small molecule drugs to combat Toxoplasma gondii.

His work has received substantial funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the NSF of Zhejiang. Dr. Tan has published nearly 30 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals such as Biochimica Et Biophysica Acta-Molecular Basis Of Disease and Journal of Biological Chemistry. He holds 4 national invention patents. Over the years, Dr. Tan has received several prestigious awards, including the third prize in the Natural Science Award of Zhejiang Province, the second prize in the Scientific and Technological Progress Award from the Ministry of Education, and the second prize in the Science and Technology Award of Guangdong Province.
