Biography

Dr. Zhiyong Li is a Full Professor at Wenzhou Medical University and a Visiting Associate Professor at Yale University. He serves as the Director of the Center for Pathogen Infection and Innovative Vaccine Research at the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Wenzhou Medical University. Dr. Li is an expert in viral infection mechanisms, particularly high-pathogenic microorganisms, and in the development of innovative vaccines and therapeutics. He mentors Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers in his lab.

Dr. Li is also a Guest Editor for Frontiers in Microbiology and has been recognized internationally in the field of small RNA viruses. His research is supported by prestigious grants, including those from the National Natural Science Foundation, the National 863 Program, and the Gansu Province. Dr. Li has published nearly 70 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals such as Autophagy and Journal of Nanobiotechnology. His work has led to the granting of two PCT patents, over ten national invention patents, and a biosafety certificate for genetically modified organisms from the Ministry of Agriculture, along with a veterinary production license. He has received multiple accolades, including the First, Second, and Third Prizes for the Science and Technology Progress Awards of Gansu Province.
