Biography

Professor Cao Tong is a leading academic in stem cell and regenerative medicine. He is the founder of the iHuman platform, a pioneering in vitro and in vivo platform, and is currently a Senior PI at Zhejiang Provincial Oujiang Laboratory and the Academic Dean of Wenzhou Medical University School and Hospital of Stomatology. Previously, Prof. Cao served as Vice Dean of Research and Director of Oral Sciences at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and was a faculty member at NUS from 2001 to 2020. He is a world-renowned expert in human stem cells, regenerative medicine, and the development of functional tissue-organ systems, with numerous international patents and scientific achievements. He has published more than 170 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, with over 8,700 citations. Professor Cao is also a prominent reviewer and editor for numerous scientific journals and organizations.

Research Interests

· Development of in-vitro & in-vivo human platforms (iHuman) for regenerative medicine, transplantation, and precision medicine

· iHuman+ (new): Agelessly renewing and upgrading syngeneic and standard iHuman organ-systems

· aiHuman: Integration of iHuman neuron-organ systems with AI, utilizing iHuman data technology

· Clinical and biological design of systemic and oral implants and scaffolds for tissue, organ repair, and reconstruction with 3D printing and additive manufacturing
