Pengyuan Wang

Dr Wang is currently a Principal Investigator at Oujiang Laboratory/Wenzhou Medical University, China. He received his PhD at the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Taiwan University, in 2011. He completed postdoc and senior researcher at Swinburne University/CSIRO in Australia. He started his role as a Principal Investigator at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and then the Oujiang Lab.

Dr Wang has been awarded several prestigious awards/fellowships, including the ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) Fellowship, Veski Victoria Fellowship, Vice-Chancellor’s Research Excellence Award, and Australia-China Young Scientists in Australia. He has led over 10 national grants with over 3 million USD research funds.

Dr Wang's research focuses on the biophysical effects on mammalian cells. In particular, manipulating stem cell growth, differentiation, and reprogramming using advanced nanobiotechnologies is interesting. He has authored over 110 peer-reviewed publications, 3 book chapters, 1 ebook, and applied/issued over 16 patents worldwide. He has been a guest editor and reviewer for over 20 SCI journals. His works provide an essential framework for understanding mechanobiology, stem cell differentiation, cell reprogramming, cell-material interaction, biomaterials, and regenerative medicine.
