Biography:

Dr. Pan Zhifang is a distinguished Computer Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor of Biomedical Engineering. He holds several academic positions, including Vice President of the Fifth Council of the Zhejiang Association of Overseas Returned Scholars and Relatives, and Specially Appointed Expert by the Zhejiang Federation of Overseas Chinese. Dr. Pan is a Senior Member of IEEE and serves as Chair of the International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning Program Committee, as well as the Special Session Chair of the International Conference on Information Communication and Signal Processing. He has conducted research as a visiting scholar at the IDEA Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Department of Computer Science at Ohio University, and pursued further teaching and training at the Medical University of Lublin in Poland.

Dr. Pan has published over 63 papers in SCI-indexed journals related to medical data or image processing and analysis, including 16 papers in top journals such as NeuroImage. Among these publications, 7 papers are highly cited, with 4 of them being hot papers. He has been cited over 2,200 times with an H-index of 26. Additionally, he holds 8 granted invention patents. Dr. Pan has received the Third Prize in the First Zhejiang Intellectual Property Awards, and was awarded the Second Prize once and the Third Prize twice in the Science and Technology Innovation Awards by the China Medicine Education Association. He has also guided his graduate students to win the Excellent Practical Achievement Award for Professional Degree Graduate Students in Zhejiang Province twice.

Dr. Pan's research focuses on medical artificial intelligence and healthcare big data, including their study, clinical application, and industrial translation. His current projects primarily revolve around various diseases, particularly tumors, and involve the fusion and analysis of multimodal data for lesion segmentation, diagnostic classification, and prediction.
