  • 1.Application Requirement:

    ①Non-Chinese citizens aged between 18-30 (in principle) with a valid passport (according to the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China);

    (1)According to Article 5 of the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China, the applicant should have acquired foreign nationality at birth and not bear Chinese nationality, whose parents are both Chinese citizens and/or both have settled abroad or one of whose parents is a Chinese citizen and has settled abroad. Starting from 2021, the applicant who applies to study at WMU as an international student, in addition to meeting other application requirements of the university, should hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive) and have resided in a foreign country for more than 2 years in the recent 4 years (before April 30 of the year of admission) (the actual residence in a foreign country for more than 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit records);

    (2)Residents of mainland China (Mainland), Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who have immigrated, acquired foreign nationality, and applied to study as international students at WMU should also meet the requirements (1).

    ②Applicants must have graduated from high school or an equivalent institution with academic results that meet the admission requirements. In principle, this includes scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. If a candidate can only provide the scores in two of the subjects, they must bear an outstanding grade and additionally pass an examination organized by the university;

    ③Applicants must meet specific health standards to qualify for admission to the corresponding professional programs. They should be in good overall health, with normal visual acuity and no color vision impairments, along with normal hearing, sense of smell, and expression abilities. Applicants diagnosed with infectious diseases, such as Hepatitis B, HIV, syphilis or tuberculosis, and/or severe chronic conditions, must provide medical certification confirming they are fully cured before applying. Additionally, those with a history of mental disorders are not recommended to apply. The School of International Studies reserves the right to terminate applications that do not meet the above health requirements;

    ④Comply with the laws of the People's Republic of China and the relevant regulations of the Wenzhou Medical University (WMU).

    Note: Left-handed Students are not eligible for the BDS programs.

    2. Application Documents:

    Applicants must provide accurate and true information on the following application documents in the online application system (https://wmu.at0086.cn/student):

    ① Application form for International Students of Wenzhou Medical University. The form will be automatically generated after applicants complete the information in the online application system, and applicants should upload their signatures;

    ② High School Transcript with the official stamp (scanned color copies of original or notarized copies in Chinese or English);

    ③ High school diploma or equivalent certificate (fresh graduates can provide pre-graduation certificate first) (scanned color copies of original or notarized copies in Chinese or English);

    ④ Passport within the validity period (Scanned color copy);

    ⑤ Digital colored photo in white background (Format: JPG: 100-500KB);

    ⑥ Financial guarantee certificate (parents' income certificate or bank deposit certificate);

    ⑦ Foreigner Physical Examination Form: A scanned copy (the applicant should keep the original). The Chinese quarantine authorities issue this form, which must be completed in English. It is advised to choose the date wisely, for the results are valid only for 6 months;

    ⑧ Applicants whose native language is not English should provide scanned color copies of proof of English proficiency (such as IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, etc., with IELTS no less than 6.0 and each band no less than 5.0; TOEFL no less than 70 and each band no less than 15; Duolingo no less than 105) or proof of a medium-of-instruction certificate in English during high school;

    ⑨ A self-introduction video (3-5 minutes, no more than 50M) in English;

    ⑩ Other supplementary documents as required by WMU.

    First-year students (MBBS and BDS programs) must fully pay the tuition fee and complete the registration procedure. Then, the Freshman Entrance Scholarship based on the entrance exam will be evaluated.

    Academic Scholarship (MBBS and BDS programs) (from the 2nd-6th year) is based on the International Student Overall Standing Assessment.

    Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology Scholarship Scheme

    The scholarship is 15,000 RMB for the first year; from 2nd year on, a merit-based scholarship is available for application with a maximum amount of 15,000 RMB/year.

    Note:

    First-year students (Pharmacy, Nursing, and Biotechnology programs) must fully pay the tuition fee and complete the registration procedure, and the scholarship will be issued upon arrival.

    Merit-based scholarships (Pharmacy, Nursing, and Biotechnology programs) (from the 2nd-4th year) are based on the International Student Overall Standing Assessment.

    5. Application time: February to July

    7. Application, Review and Admission Procedures:

    ① Applicants should provide and upload all the application materials in the online application system (https://wmu.at0086.cn/student);

    ② School of International Studies will review all submitted materials. If the application materials meet the requirements, the online application system will issue the pre-admission letter. Please check the online application system account or application email frequently during the application period (in principle, the results can be checked within 10 working days);

    ③ The Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202 Form) will be sent to the qualified applicants in July/August. (Note: The admission standard is receiving the JW202 Form).

    8. Enrollment and Registration:

    ① Every September, students should register with the admission letter and other relevant materials (all original). The specific time and arrangement will be announced in the registration notice. Students who are unable to register on time for any reason must obtain prior consent from the university. Failure to register on time without such approval will be considered a forfeiture of their admission eligibility.

    ② After enrollment, the university will recheck student identity, health condition, academic performance, etc., within 3 months. Only those who meet the requirements can register, and those who do not will be disqualified.

    ③ All first-year students are required to successfully pass the entrance examination arranged by the university, which includes assessments in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
