Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) is a provincially-administered university in Zhejiang Province. In 2015, WMU was jointly established by the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the National Health Commission, and the Ministry of Education. By 2017, it was recognized as a Priority Development University in Zhejiang Province, and in 2023, it was designated as a High-Level University for construction in Zhejiang Province.

The "High-Level Postgraduate Program" under the Chinese Government Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship offered by the Ministry of Education of China to select top-tier universities. The program aims to directly recruit and admit outstanding international students for postgraduate studies in China.

As an authorized institution, WMU is responsible for admitting exceptional international students with strong academic backgrounds, professional capabilities, and future potential.

Applications for the 2025/2026 academic year are now open. Details are as follows:

1. Nomination Quota

The university may recommend a maximum of 10 candidates.

2. Eligibility Requirements and Scholarship Coverage

Applicants must meet the requirements outlined in the Chinese Government Scholarship Admissions Guidelines (Attachment 1). Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English with an IELTS score of at least 6.0, a TOEFL score of no less than 70, or equivalent proof of English language proficiency. Applicants whose native language is English are exempt from providing English proficiency test results.

3) Monthly living stipend:

a) Master’s Degree: 3,000 RMB/month

b) Doctoral Degree: 3,500 RMB/month

3. Application Process

Applicants must complete two online application procedures:

Step 1: Submit the online application to WMU via the International Student Service Platform (https://wmu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx) and upload the required materials.

Application Period: December 15, 2024 – February 10, 2025

Step 2: After obtaining the Pre-admission Letter from WMU, complete the Chinese Government Scholarship application via the Study Abroad Management Information System (http://www.campuschina.org). Follow the procedures outlined in Attachment 2.

4. Recommendation Process

1. WMU will review all submitted application materials.

2. Candidates will undergo an evaluation conducted by WMU's academic and hospital faculties.

3. Recommended candidates will be submitted to the China Scholarship Council (CSC) for further evaluation.

4. The CSC will notify WMU of the successful candidates in July 2025, after which admission notices, JW201 Visa Application Forms, and other relevant documents will be issued to the awardees.
